New midtown venue
Posted by Daniel B. on 9-19-2009
We are please to offer a new midtown venue to our customers. We're frequently asked for venues that are more convenient for those working in midtown, and it's nice to find one that isn't either way west or way east.Nirvana is a high quality Indian restaurant upstairs, and a classy bar downstairs. We'll be running our first event in the downstairs section (October 6, Ivy Leaguers and Singles with Advanced Degrees). If you'd like to view the space, please go to the restaurant's site: http:/ ... Speed-dating in Brooklyn
Posted by Daniel B. on 9-18-2009
We realize that not everyone wants to go to a speed-dating event in Manhattan. It's not just about convenience to the bar, (or convenience of visiting the person you're dating!), but it's sometimes just nice to meet people who feel the same way about living outside Manhattan as you do. Are the goals of speed-dating companies aligned with their customers?
Posted by Daniel B. on 9-12-2009
One of things that makes speed-dating a unique business (and online dating for that matter), is that the most satisfied customers will not come back. Who usually attends speed-dating?
Posted by Heather on 9-6-2009
When friends and acquaintances find out that I host speed-dating, I'm usually bombarded with questions, and one of the most common is: What sorts of people attend speed-dating events? The answer I emphatically and repeatedly give is: All kinds! I'm constantly amazed at the diversity of experience and life stories that you find at any of our typical speed-dating events. We have folks at many different stages of life, education, career, and family, which makes me feel comfortable telling anyo ... [Read full post]
Host competition
Posted by Daniel B. on 9-4-2009
We had a fun host competition across July and August. At the end of every speed-dating event, customers are invited to rate (out of 5) the event, the venue, the host and their dates. The host with the best average score at the end of two months would win $200.We'd just like to announce that Beth was the winner with an average of 4.5 out of 5 from 250 rankings. Nya was a close second with 4.4 out of 5. All the hosts received rankings of above 4.0, so it was a close competition. Thanks for y ... [Read full post]
