One would think that the interest in speed-dating from month to month would be fairly constant, but there are actually large fluctuations.  And they are quite consistent from year to year.

Some of them we understand - we know that January and February are busy months because people feel like making a fresh start in the New Year, and of course Valentine's Day puts unfair pressure on all of us.  And we get why May is a little quieter - singles see summer coming and with it all the wonderful outdoor opportunities to meet new people.  September to November are great months to go speed-dating - the events are always well attended, and this makes sense as the summer is over, and winter is coming - it's a good time to find someone to date.

But July is one of the biggest months for speed-dating, and this is true every year, and one would think it is the opposite with everyone out of the city.  We have two theories - one is that June is wedding month, and this has an impact on people.  The second is that people feel summer is passing by too quickly, and so far the summer fling hasn't happened.  But these are just guesses.
