One of our most common customer questions is "What should I wear to the speed-dating event?", or "What is the recommended dress code?".Our standard reply is (and this is in our FAQs) is:"Wear whatever you would feel comfortable in if you were with friends going to a bar or restaurant in NYC"However, as we review customer comments (and we have literally tens of thousands of these), our opinion has changed somewhat. One would think that the interest in speed-dating from month to month would be fairly constant, but there are actually large fluctuations. And they are quite consistent from year to year.Some of them we understand - we know that January and February are busy months because people feel like making a fresh start in the New Year, and of course Valentine's Day puts unfair pressure on all of us. We are frequently asked if there will be an even number of men and women at our speed-dating events. Or we're asked how we can possibly ensure that the event will be nicely balanced between men and women.Well, it's not easy, but we're good at it. Well, what do you know - pheromones improve your chances of being selected at a speed-dating event. New York EasyDates assisted 20/20 in an experiment - they sent two sets of identical twins (and I mean really identical - I had no way of telling them apart) to our speed-dating event at Madame X.
