Last week we asked for funny speed dating stories. Well this is one from the early days of our business

I was hosting my first speed dating event, and it was only the third our company had ever run. My single guy friends were of course curious, and several signed up online, so I had an added reason to be a bit nervous

It was at Bar Nine on 9th Ave in NYC, and everyone showed up, which was great. What wasn't great was that in amongst the articulate, attractive and professional singles, one woman (attractive, and probably professional and articulate in her everyday life) was completely drunk, a little when she arrived, but increasingly more so as the event progressed. By date six, she was literally falling off her seat, and these were full length bar stools. With the luck or muscle fluidity that intoxicated people have, she didn't hurt herself, and happily climbed back up. If I had been a little more experienced, I would have asked her to leave, and I just watched in increasing dread of what customers, including my friends, would think.  She fell off the stool twice more.

As my friends said goodbye, and as every guy handed in their forms, I apologized for the drunken woman, and said that this was not typical of our speed dating events. Each guy said something like "it's ok, not your fault, she was only one of many speeddates, and although she was annoying, it was just 6 minutes"

When I went through the forms, I saw that every guy had picked her
