It has always been our aim to have as flexible and generous a cancellation policy as possible, as we know (especially in NYC) that things come up that make attendance impossible or difficult. We believe that our cancellation policy is the most generous of all speed-dating companies. For example, we are the only company that allows refunds, and we have a liberal approach to transfers to other events. However, because of the nature of speed-dating events, we must balance the numbers of men and women so that everyone who has paid to attend will be getting value for their money. Therefore it is essential for us to have a clear cancellation policy to discourage last second no-shows, and to ensure that each speed-dating event is a success.
So before you register, please note that by registering for an event, you are granting New York EasyDates permission to charge a registration fee to your credit card or PayPal account at the time of registration. And by completing your registration you agree to the following cancellation policy:
- Cancelling and Requesting a Refund
With a minimum of 5 days notice we can provide a refund of your registration fee, less a $7 administration fee per person. Refunds will be applied to the same credit card or PayPal account from which the original payment was made. We are not able to give refunds on less than 5 days notice; this policy allows us to ensure a good balance of men and women at each event.
Please do note that we remain the only speed-dating company that offers refunds. We invite you to compare us with others, and if you find another company to be more flexible, please let us know.
- Cancelling and Requesting a Transfer
With a minimum of 48 hours notice of cancellation we will offer you the chance to transfer your registration to any event of the same or a lower price. If you choose to transfer to an event with a higher price you will be asked to pay the difference. While we will be as flexible as possible when it comes to transfers, we cannot transfer you to an event that is already sold out for your gender or where there is a waiting list for your gender. If there are no events scheduled that are suitable, a credit can be held on your account until you are able to find a suitable event.
- Method of Cancellation
Cancellations that are eligible for a refund or transfer will only be accepted in written form, either by email or by requesting a cancellation through the "My Events" page of the New York EasyDates Members' area (located at
https://members.nyeasydates.com). In order to process a refund or transfer, we cannot accept phone cancellations. We have numerous customers with similar names, and we need to ensure that we cancel the correction registration.
- Last-Minute Cancellations
While we cannot offer to refund your registration fee or transfer you to another event for last-minute cancellations, we do appreciate your letting us know that you won't be able to attend. We ask that you either email us or call us at 1-866-330-6939 and leave a message with your name and e-mail (and please, speak clearly). As part of our appreciation for this courtesy we may be able to offer you a discount to another event, though please note that this is entirely at our discretion.
- Cancellation from Waiting List
If you are currently on the waiting list for an event, you may remove yourself at any time through the "My Events" page of the New York EasyDates Members' Area located at
https://members.nyeasydates.com, or by emailing us. Until you are confirmed for an event your credit card will not be charged, so if you choose to cancel while you're on the waiting list you have not been charged and no refund will be necessary. If you have paid through PayPal, please contact us to issue a refund and remove you from the waiting list. Once you have been confirmed from the waiting list, your credit card will be charged and the above policy for cancellation applies.
- Special Events
Some events may carry their own cancellation policy which varies from this policy. Please contact us if you need specific details.
- Cancelled Events
While we rarely are unable to run an event, New York EasyDates reserves the right to cancel an event for any reason. As the customer you may choose to either have a full refund issued or have your registration transferred to another event with an equal or lesser ticket price. If you choose a refund, it will be applied to the same credit card or PayPal account that was used during registration.
- Changes to this Policy
This cancellation policy may change at any time without prior notice to our customers. Such changes shall affect only those registrations that occur after those changes are made, and an updated policy will be posted on our website. For this reason, if you have strong preferences connected with the cancellation policy we ask that you review this policy each time you register for an event.
